Getting There

Bhutan’s national carriers, Druk Air and Royal Bhutan Airlines both provide international flights into Bhutan’s international airport located in Paro, about one and a half hours drive from the capitol Thimphu. There are no direct flights to Bhutan, other than from a few select cities, including Bangkok, Singapore and Kolkata, among others.

However, we strongly recommend a few days in Bangkok as your intermediary stop to acclimate you to the time zone and also afford you a short holiday before moving on to Bhutan.

As part of your group package, Honu Adventures will arrange your air travel to Bangkok, airport transfers to your hotel, your hotel booking, an optional city tour and perhaps a few restaurant recommendations. We will coordinate with our Bhutan travel partner, Gomo Adventures, to arrange for your round trip flights to Paro International Airport. When you arrive in Paro, you will clear immigration and customs, and then be met by your amazing tour guide. Your job is to relax and take it all in because you are in for an experience like none other.

There are many paths that one can take to Bhutan and while we recommend Bangkok, Thailand as your transit point, the location of Bhutan affords many wonderful opportunities once your journey in The Land of the Thunder Dragon has come to an end. You can easily fly from Bhutan to Nepal, India, Bangladesh or Singapore to add an additional adventure in this part of the world.
